Hi Everyone,
The newest Remotly PC (Host/Client) version 1.37.0 is now officially available from https://remotly.com/download
Please find the list of changes in this big update below:
1. Added support for latest Nvidia R590 drivers (591.44 and newer).
2. Added support for video encoding using multiple Nvidia NVENC engines (on selected Nvidia RTX 40 and 50 GPUs). This further improves stream latency.
3. Removed auto game mode on host side (please enable game mode manually in PC and Android clients when needed).
4. Added virtual remote pen/stylus device with pressure, orientation and tilt (Android client will be available soon).
5. Added virtual remote touch screen with up to 5 fingers control (Android client will be available soon).
6. Added logging of all inbound connections to Windows Event Viewer (read more below)
7. Fixed problems with invitations when invited user has many registered devices
8. Fixed problem with PC client connection using relay servers in networks where ping (ICMP protocol) is blocked (fix for Android client will be available soon).
9. Host display resolution that has been changed remotely is no longer reverted after disconnect.
10. Stability and performance improvements.
From this version all incoming connections to Remotly, Remotly QuickSupport and Remotly QuickHost are logged in Windows Event Viewer (no matter from which Window user account the connection was done).
Logging to Windows Event Viewer will work only when Remotly, RemotlyQS or RemotlyQH are started with administrator rights at least once (this is needed to register Remotly event log to which the connection log is saved).
When the log is properly registered all incoming connections will be logged in Windows Logs/Application (to start Event Viewer press Windows Start button and start typing Event Viewer):
The blanked out space will contain the email address associated with connecting user's Remotly account (user that has connected or has tried to connect to a host PC). There are two types of events: Information and Warning. Information is logged when the user has successfully connected or warning when the connection was rejected either attended or unattended (this allows monitoring of unallowed users).
To make it easier to monitor Remotly logs in event viewer we recommend creating a custom view which will filter out only Remotly events (in the above image you can see "Remotly Logs" in Custom Views).
Please remember that the default Application event log has a maximum size of approx. 20MB. When this limit is reached older events are automatically deleted.
Since this might remove Remotly logs please make sure to modify the default settings of Application log:
As shown above you can either increase the maximum log size or allow log archiving (Archive the log when full, do not overwrite events).
In case of any questions or problems please let us know.
