We have just uploaded the latest Remotly PC version with the following fixes and improvements:
- Fixed Connection ID reset to a new value
- Minor UI fixes and improvements
- Added possibility to select installation for all users or only for current user when installing Remotly from administrator accounts (when installing without administrator rights this installer page will not be visible and the installation is always done for current user in the user's AppData folder):
The difference between these two options is that installing for everyone will add Remotly desktop icon and Start menu icon to all user accounts (both standard and other administrator accounts). In this case all users will have access to Remotly host app on their accounts and it will run with or without administrator rights depending on the account type.
If you need remote control of elevated UAC popups and lock screen when connecting to a standard account when Remotly does not run with administrator rights please follow the steps below:
1. Install Remotly for PC on administrator account.
2. Login to the Remotly account that will be used by the person who is administrating this PC.
3. After logging in please enable "Start with Windows" option in Settings->General:
This will enable Remotly booter service that will allow remote access to administrator restricted UAC popups and lock screen when Remotly is run without administrator rights on a Standard user account. This applies both to Remotly full version and Remotly QuickSupport tool.
If you want to use only Remotly QuickSupport on Standard user accounts you can select "Install just for me" when installing Remotly full version from an administrator account. If you want all users to have access to Remotly full version please use "Install for anyone using this computer" (all users will use the same installation files located in Program Files directory, thus reducing disk space usage).
