We have just released a new, big update which adds UPnP automatic port forwarding to allow P2P connections in more situations.
This build also includes more improvements and additional features which are described below.
1. UPnP port forwarding.
Please open Settings->Network tab (new in version 1.35.0):
Before enabling "Use UPnP port forwarding" option please click "Make sure to enable 'Network discovery'".
This will open Windows advanced sharing settings:
This will not be necessary in the future when our own UPnP port forwarding module will be ported from Remotly Android version.
Next, close Windows advanced sharing settings and go back to Remotly Network Settings.
You can optionally use "Use custom P2P port numbers" if you'd like to use a selected group of ports:
When not selected random ports will be used and also port forwarded using UPnP.
Please make sure UPnP is ENABLED in your gateway router settings.
2. New options for Remotly PC Client:
There are two new options for Remotly Client:
- Show hints:
Disabling this option will remove popup hints during connection.
- Use Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Pair as one gamepad:
This option allows using both Joy-Cons as one gamepad working like and Xbox gamepad with all buttons.
By default this option is disabled and each Joy-Con is used for Player 1 and Player 2 separately (multiplayer mode).
3. Changes in "Shared keyboard customization":
A new "ALL" button has been added to allow easy selection of all buttons before removing specific ones.
4. New versions of Quick Support and Quick Host tools are also available so please make sure to upgrade if possible.
