Hi Everyone,
We have just release a new update for Remotly QuickSupport remote assist tool.
Here are the changes introduced in this latest update:
1. No UAC popup asking about privileges elevation is shown during RemotlyQS startup (if needed this can be done using Windows context menu (right click on RemotlyQS icon select "Run as administrator").
2. Starting RemotlyQS from Program Files without administrator rights allows remote control of UAC popups that are not shown on secure desktop. This is needed by the latest Windows 11 updates that have blocked remote access to UAC popups. It is recommended to distribute RemotlyQS embedded in your own product installer.
Please note that RemotlyQS extracts it's files to the same folder it has been started in. So if the folder located in Program Files does not have write access for standard users starting RemotlyQS from this folder with fail with a message that it will be started from other folder (no allowing UAC popup remote control).
We recommend to distribute extracted "Remotly QuickSupport" folder that will be located somewhere in Program Files.
Important: this still does not allow remote control of remote users lock/login screen and UAC popups that are shown on a secure desktop (not users main desktop). To allow full control running RemotlyQS with administrator rights is still needed.
