Dear All,
We have uploaded a BIG update that includes secure file transfer between PCs. The file transfer is done using the "Send to" Windows context menu (screenshot below).
The file transfer is done the following way:
1. One or multiple selected files are first compressed using LZMA algorithm to make the transfer as small as possible
2. The LZMA package is encrypted using AES-128 with a unique one-time session key (this key is also used for audio/video/mouse/keyboard/clipboard etc.)
3. Using TLS 1.3 the file is transferred via one of our relay servers
4. The files are never stored on the connection server. They are removed as soon as they arrive the receiver or when the connection is dropped.
5. Since we do not know the session key connected with the file transfer session you can be sure we (and no one else) can access your secrets
There are also some other improvements in this new version:
- Improved clipboard for P2P connections (in the previous version sometimes the clipboard might got corrupted on UDP packed loss)
- Fixed monitor staying dimmed/muted after forced disconnection
- Fixed Alt-Tab for some games (like Apex Legends). This fix will also be applied in our Action! Recording and Streaming software in version 4.30.3 tomorrow.
- Stability fixes
File transfer using Drag and Drop (to remote PC) and using Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V (to and from remote PC) will be added next week in v1.8.1
