Custom Names für Remote PC´s and Linux Client/Host?

I'd love a feature to give devices nicknames instead of the PC name and username combination.

Are there any updates for a Linux client? I'd really appreciate it, especially for Steam Deck, and my server could probably use a host instead :D
*Edit: Part of it is done, I saw that you can define the device name via the website

Hi Xevius,

Thank you for the feedback and welcome to our community :giggle:

As for custom device name (alias) there are two ways.

1. To change the name for a logged on host devices (devices available after logging to your account using username and password in host app) please open the web admin panel and in the "My Devices" section use the EDIT button:

2. To create an alias for an anonymous device (using Connection ID code) please use the "Add device" button also available in the admin panel:

After entering a valid Connection ID that is assigned to a host device you can enter a name for it and it will be visible on the Device list in PC/Android (and soon Apple) clients.

Please remember that since these devices are anonymous you will currently only see "Try to connect" for them.
You also need to enable "Allow connections via ID" in the host PC app to allow connections via ID.

As for the Linux client it will be available after iOS/macOS clients are ready.
