Integrated Software Updater in the Remotly Client

Hello everyone,

I'm a regular user of Remotly and I've noticed that when a new version of the client is available, it prompts me to download the new installer from the website. I would like to propose a feature that would greatly improve this process: an integrated software updater within the Remotly client itself.

Instead of having to go to the website, download a file, and run it manually, a built-in updater would handle this process automatically with a simple click. The client could download and apply the update in the background, prompting the user only to restart the application to finalize the installation.

This would offer several benefits for users:

• Convenience: It would eliminate the friction of a multi-step update process. A one-click update is much faster and easier.
• Security: Users are more likely to stay on the latest version, which often includes critical security patches and bug fixes. A simple, integrated update process encourages and facilitates this.
• Improved User Experience: It creates a smoother, more professional experience. The current method of downloading from a website feels a bit clunky and outdated compared to other modern applications.

An integrated updater would ensure that users are always on the most secure and feature-rich version of Remotly with minimal effort.

Auto updater is in development and will be available in the admin panel "on demand". It will allow to select a specific version which should run on each remote device separately (or for all remote devices at once).
