P2P

Hi ao55jr,

Some of Remotly users use VPNs to tunnel P2P. Unfortunately this is a complex solution.

There is a better solution for this problem. Do you have a static public IP on the host PC you are connecting to?

Are you sure your 4G network may block P2P? Usually they do not block P2P traffic. The problem might still be on the host router/firewall side.

Can you check what firewall you are using and check if Remotly.exe is not blocked for inbound/outbound P2P traffic? The best solution is to select some random port in Remotly server for inbound connections and make sure it is allowed by the firewall (add a rule for Remotly.exe for the selected port in Remotly Settings).

First of all, please check if there are any rules for Remotly.exe or RemotlyClient.bin in your firewall settings.

Hi ao55jr,

Sorry for the late reply.
Is there any chance you could ask your mobile ISP provider if they block P2P?

Since this problem will exist for more and more Remotly users we are going to add a "P2P check" option that will be integrated into Remotly apps.

This will try to establish a simple P2P data exchange with one of Remotly servers.
This way we will know where the problem is.
