Hi Everyone,
You can now download the latest version that includes 4:4:4 color format encoding for Nvidia and Intel GPUs.
Please note that this list has changed and now allows precise selection of the server/host codec.
Please make sure to check this list after starting v1.20.0 as it might have changed your current selection.
If you want to allow HDR10 streaming you need to select the HDR10 version. Otherwise all HDR content will be automatically tone mapped to SDR and transmitted using HEVC coding. You can also use a mixed setup that will use Intel hardware to encode video coming from Nvidia GPU.
If you have a hybrid Intel/Nvidia setup please make sure to select the Intel GPU for RemotlyClient.bin (PC client app) executable to allow 4:4:4 format streaming.
Minimum requirements for 4:4:4 format:
- Nvidia GTX 1050
- Intel Iris Plus, Iris Xe, Iris Xe MAX, ARC or UHD 7xx iGPU mobile family
There is no 4:4:4 format support for AMD GPUs.
HDR10 4:4:4 format is in the works but the quality of video is poor both for Intel and Nvidia (seems like no one uses it for low bitrate low latency streaming and it's not fine tuned for this).
What's missing is 4:4:4 decode on Nvidia GPUs which does not support 4:4:4 HEVC decoding using DXVA API for Windows.
This will be fixed soon by using Nvidia NVDEC API.
Other changes in this version include:
- Fixed support for user account names containing non-standard characters (like Arabic, Japanese, Chinese letters)
- Fixed problem with "compatibility mode" not working on "No Signal" popup
- Fixed display going to sleep during connection
- Stability fixes
