Broken auto-start on Windows 11

Hello.
I have a problem with the application on my Windows 11 Pro system. I have set it for auto start with Windows as a minimised version.
Sometimes it works just fine, sometimes it does not start whatsoever, and sometimes it starts multiple copies of the app (usually 2 or 3) that are stuck, and I have to close all the copies manually via Task Manager to start the one copy that works.
Any ideas on how to solve that?
Cheers.

Hello ZiggyGG,

Which host version are you using?

EDIT: Please run Task Scheduler and check how many entries of "RemotlyOnWinStart" do you see.

Hello.
I am using the installer version 1.33.0 currently. I have checked the Task Scheduler and did not have a single "RemotlyOnWinStart" entry, BUT had two "RemotlyLauncher" entries, one for my local account and one for my Microsoft account. Removed the local account one.
Cheers.

EDIT: Strangle enough, when I have removed the "RemotlyLauncher" for local account, the "RemotlyonWinStar" showed up next to the "RemotlyLauncher". Both are for the Microsoft account.

You might have found a serious problem with the RemotlyLauncher and local/Microsoft account.
We will need to find a solution for this.

As for "RemotlyOnWinStartup_UserName" (where UserName is the user of the account that has installed Remotly) it must be present in the Task Scheduler for Remotly to start with system.

Does Remotly start with your system without this?

As I have said, it sometimes starts and sometimes does not, and sometimes runs a few copies at once.
I have left the Microsoft account one in the Task Scheduler because I do not use a local account whatsoever.
I will try to restart the computer a few times and see if it starts every single time now, after I have removed the local account entry.
Give me a few minutes to report back.

OK. So I have performed a few restarts. The app automatically adds a second "RemotlyOnWinStartup" entry in the Task Scheduler for the local account every time it starts. It did not cause any problems, and only one copy of the app was launched. Checked in the Task Manager details tab.

Performed an update from 1.33.0 to 1.33.1, and the update automatically added "RemotlyLauncher" entry for the Task Scheduler for the local account besides the "RemotlyOnWinStartup". Restarted a couple of times, and it did not cause any issues.

I summarise that the "RemoteLauncher" is added every single time the app starts, and "RemotlyOnWinStartup" on every update.
Could not reproduce the issue I have. It never happens constantly, but randomly, and I do not know the reason.

It does start without the "RemotlyOnWinStartup" entry in the Task Scheduler. I have removed both for local and MS accounts, restarted and Remotly did start up.

Hi again,

RemotlyLauncher task is added ro task scheduler ONLY during installation. Its main purpose is to get rid of the UAC popup when started with admin rights.

Hello.
This morning, it happened again that Remotly did not start up. Checked the Task Scheduler, and all Remotly entries were turned off for some reason. I have turned them back on. As you see, the issue with the autostart is so random that I can't predict when or what can happen.

This is not normal for task scheduler entries to turn off all by themself.

That was my guess. To be honest, I have never checked the Task Scheduler before to see what state the entries are in, so let's do this during the upcoming week, and I will report back the next weekend to see what has been happening.
