Hi Filin,

Mouse cursor is displayed in game mode if the game, running in full screen exclusive mode, displays a cursor (in game menu etc.). If you do not see the cursor in game mode when the game displays it please let us know in what game does it happen as this would be a bug and need checking.

Forced game mode activation works only for games running in full screen exclusive mode.
If you can run the game in full screen borderless window mode you will be able to switch game mode on/off.

Hi Filin,

Sorry for late reply. We will test Dota2 and Backpack Battles but after testing a bunch of other games mouse cursor is visible whenever it should be (for example in FPP/TPP games cursor is visible in game menu, and disappears after exiting menu).

After auto exclusive mode detection mouse cursor will disappear on client/connecting side. You can exit this mode by pressing CTRL+M. After focusing Remotly client window again the mouse cursor will disappear on the client side.

Hi bitcrusher,

Game mode is enabled when the game hides hardware mouse cursor (non-exclusive borderless or windowed mode) or when fullscreen exclusive mode is detected by Remotly. When a game hides hardware mouse cursor it either renders the mouse cursor in software or the game uses the mouse to handle camera movement.

Do you need to switch to desktop mode even when hardware mouse cursor is hidden?

In the next Android app v1.38 we no longer block switching between desktop and game mode.

Please note that in desktop mode absolute mouse position is used. In game mode relative position is used (delta movement).

OK. You are right. This is a bug. When there is no hardware mouse cursor Remotly will enter game mode all the time thus hiding cursor on the client side 🤦🏻‍♀️.

In the latest update we wanted to improve game detection by monitoring hardware mouse cursor visibility. But we forgot that this will cause problems when no hardware mouse/cursor is present in the system.

Damn it.

We will upload a quick fix for this tomorrow (Sunday) together with Remotly client for Android.

Please fix, i use remotly for headless systems, and i rather enjoy remotly better than teamviewer specially in its current days

BTW. In v1.28.0 (Tuesday) we will add Remotly Virtual Audio Driver. With this driver and the already available Remotly Virtual Display Driver, it will be possible to connect to a headless system with all resolutions supported by Remotly Virtual Display (even HDR and 21:9 aspect ratio) with sound. No third party drivers/software will be needed anymore.

Please check v1.27.2 which is now available (official download section).
Yes seems to be fixed now! Thanks. I also get poor connection over lan network most times with the graphics bit messed up.
Also could you please make it not allow more than one copy of the application open at a time 2 opens and a third wont
The other thing that could be implemented is in app downloads and updates

Thank you bitcrusher for letting us know!

"I also get poor connection over LAN network most times with the graphics bit messed up."
You should see no graphic glitches on the client side even in P2P (and no at all using Connect Anywhere). We have developed advanced methods of recovering from corrupted/lost network data. You should only experience stuttering during the recovery from errors over the network.
Maybe there is a problem with the hardware decoder? Maybe old graphics drivers?

"Also could you please make it not allow more than one copy of the application open at a time 2 opens and a third wont"
We are working on v2.0 which will allow multi-join connection of up to 4 people to one host at the same time.
This new version will no longer open more than one copy of the application.
Currently the second copy is a workaround to allow more than one people connect to the same host.
When you start two copies you will see two PC's which is in fact the same (the other has _2 in the name).

"The other thing that could be implemented is in app downloads and updates"
We are working on it.

1. Please let us know what graphics card is on the host and client side (driver date would be useful)
2. Please let us know what codec is selected on the host side (Settings-Video).
3. On the client side (also in Settings-Video) is Hardware accelerated decoding enabled?
4. Please enable "Force connection with Connect Anywhere" just to test if this also happens when not using P2P connection (this will tell us if the problem is related with P2P packet loss or rather with GPU)
