Failed to connect to my computer

If I remember well there was another user with a similar problem. I think you still have connection because the control network traffic uses a different network device than video. We need to check if you have the VPN device on your network interface list in Remotly Settings.

Now i get it! Ok so it is a network problem after all. Please let me know what network devices do you see Settings -> General -> Network Interface.

I don't think reinstallation will change anything in this case.

In Windows 11 I have no such thing as Settings > General> Network Interfaces, BUT I have made a screenshot of all network devices on the computer in question. It is connected with an Ethernet cable to my home PoE network and then to the router.

You should see PIA Tunnel on this list. If it's there please select it and then check if this helps.

I do have PIA Tunnelling. My setting is default.

I will change to PIA and let you know tomorrow if anything has changed.
I am curious why the default setting works on my other two computers without issues, but not here.

"I am curious why the default setting works on my other two computers without issues, but not here."

I'd need to see the Network Interface list on those that do work. Maybe they are in different order (maybe PIA Tunnel is just under Default settings).

Just checked. One of them was defaulting to the regular connection (so via VPN?), and the other one had PIA Tunnelling as the default connection.
Both worked fine. I don't know anymore. I've set all to PIA Tunnelling. Testing tomorrow at work. It's late here already.

I hope it will work after manually selecting it!

Remotly works perfectly now. I can connect quickly and without issues with the remote computer from both my mobile and laptop.
Additionally, the performance has improved. This must have been the issue. I appreciate your help.

This is a complex setup as it engages dual network interface usage. May this thread serve other users with similar setup :)

It is happening again. Remotly is resetting the network settings to the default one on itself and I am unable to connect to the computer after the VPN connection is established. This time I'm getting Error Code 0. But I can access the computer on the login screen and log into Windows until the VPN connection is established.

My suggestion? Instead of auto detectable network list I would go with priority list where you can see the history of all detectable networks and set them by connection priority. So if PIA VPN Tunneling is not detectable at the current moment, it will go to the second network, BUT if the PIA VPN Tunneling is detected it will automatically switch and prioritize the VPN connection.

Any ideas why the VPN tunnel has dissapeared? Remotly does store last selected network interface and when it is again available uses it. It should revert to VPN tunnel when it is visible again.

Usually we make such tests with a computer that has ethernet and WiFi available. So on the list of network devices there is "Default, Ethernet and WiFi". If ethernet is default or is selected and we disable it in the device manager (by disabling the physical ethernet card) Remotly will switch to WiFi. But if the last selected by hand device is enabled again in device manager Remotly will switch back to it automatically.

I've noticed that when VPN is not connected the PIA Tunneling doesn't show on the network adapters list. After login to Windows the PIA app auto starts and auto connects. The PIA Tunneling is available on the Remotly network adapters list then. When I close the VPN app it's gone.
